2年前にリリースされたペット・ショップ・ボーイズの現時点での最新アルバム'Hotspot'の中で一番好きな"Only the Dark"を和訳しました。*1
歌詞の内容としては、暗闇の中二人で一緒にいよう、という歌ですが、個人的にはこの「暗闇」ないし「夜」の季節は冬だと思っています。凍てつく夜に火を起こして肩を寄せ合い暖を取る二人……そんなイメージがこの曲にはあります。
そう思うのは、温かみのあるトラックのアレンジからの連想かな？と思います。
