昨日でGWも終わり、今日からまた仕事が再開しました。
もちろん、きちんとステイホームしていたので、久々に読書に割く時間が多く、自分としてはかなり有意義でした。
さて、そんな中、死海文書なんかが出てくるとある本に
「キリストは宇宙からの使者だった」
「東方三博士を導いたベツレヘムの星は宇宙船だった」
という記述がありました(要約)。
この内容自体の是非は置いておいて、この部分を読んだ時によぎったのが、今回紹介する曲、Chris de Burghの"A Spaceman Came Travelling"です。
以下、和訳。

さて、この曲についてChris de Burgh本人の弁(The stories of the Christmas hits - BBC Newsより引用)。
It made me think, what if the star of Bethlehem was a space craft and what if there is a benevolent being or entity in the universe keeping an eye on the world and our foolish things that we do to each other?
(ある本を読んで)考えた、もしベツレヘムの星が宇宙船だったら？もし慈悲深い何らかの存在があって、世界や僕らがお互いにやってる愚かなことを見張ってるとしたら？ってね。
なんという(例の本との)一致。
ちなみにこの曲、クリスマスソングとして親しまれているので今回取り上げるには思いっきり時期外れですが、そこはご愛嬌ということで。笑
